ATC Commissioner Makes Three Staff Appointments

Director of Enforcement and two Staff Officers

BATON ROUGE - Alcohol and Tobacco Control Commissioner Murphy Painter has named ATC''s Bobby Jackson to the position of Director of Enforcement for ATC. Painter also appointed ATC Region Supervisors Louis Thompson and Leonard Prean to Staff Officer positions in the Enforcement Section of ATC.

Painter says Jackson has been with ATC for five years and has served in the positions of Investigator and Region Supervisor. He is a native of Iberia Parish and holds a Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree from Louisiana State University. Jackson is also a 16-year veteran of the Army Reserve where he holds the rank of Captain.

Louis Thompson has been with ATC for three years and has served as both a Field Agent and a Special Agent. He was first assigned to the newly formed Responsible Vendor Section and later managed ATC''s Cops in Shops Program. A native of Tangipahoa Parish, Thompson previously served at different times as Field Training Officer for the Ponchatoula City Police Department and the Southeastern University Police Department.

A native of Assumption Parish, Leonard Prean started his state career 28 years ago with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety. During his career, he has served as a Field Agent, Special Agent, and Region Supervisor. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern University.
