BATON ROUGE - Application requirements for a retail dealer''s permit for the sale of alcoholic beverages was changed this year by the Louisiana legislature to require that only one newspaper advertisement by the applicant is needed. Previously, two advertisements were required.
Act 719 (House Bill 796) of the 1999 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature amended Revised Statute 26:77 and 277 and decreased from two to one the requirement for newspaper ads by an applicant. The new law became effective on August 15, 1999.
