Shreveport Regional Office of the Louisiana Department of Revenue Hosts the Super Tax Day to Provide Free Tax Filing and Assistance

Shreveport, LA- The Shreveport Regional Office of the Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR) in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Queensboro Neighborhood Association, Claiborne Police Jury and Centerpoint-Shreveport SRO, are hosting the Super Tax Day for the second year, which provides free electronic filing of Federal and Louisiana individual income tax returns. The event will be held at the Municipal Auditorium on Thursday, January 31, 2008.

Assistance will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No appointments are necessary and taxpayers will be served on a first come-first served basis. The program is available for low to moderate income taxpayers who file basic individual income tax returns.

“We are excited to host this wonderful event for our taxpayers, says Cynthia Bridges, Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Revenue. “Last year was a great success, and we expect an even larger turnout this year.”

Taxpayers must bring all W-2’s, 1099’s, Social Security cards of dependants, a copy of last year’s tax return if available, and information for all deductions and credits.

The Super Tax Day will be held at the Municipal Auditorium on 705 Elvis Presley Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71101.
