The Southeastern Association of Tax Administrators ( SEATA) is an organization comprised of tax administrators from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The SEATA Exchange Committee, designed to promote cooperation among the member states, has been instrumental in helping those agencies to increase collections and put more dollars into state budgets. In the 15 years since the agreement was signed, member states have been able to collect 98 million dollars. The Federation of Tax Administrators is a national organization that not only allows member states to share programs and policies that have been successful, but also to work collaboratively on national issues that impact the citizens of each state.
Bridges welcomes the opportunities. “I am excited about the chance to lead my peers for the next year. It is very important for our state that we work with our neighboring colleagues to find ways to make our departments more efficient, transparent, and simple for taxpayers,” Bridges stated.
