You are invited to join Louisiana Department of Revenue Secretary Cynthia Bridges in kicking-off the Louisiana State Sales Tax Holiday Weekend at the New Orleans Riverwalk this Friday December 16th beginning at 1:00 pm.

“I want to show my support to the many businesses throughout our state that are delivering the state sales tax holiday to our people. This weekend, consumers will be able to purchase tangible items without paying state sales tax and can use these savings to purchase additional items. These three days are not only about the spirit of the holidays but also about the spirit of rebuilding Louisiana.” said Secretary Bridges.

Residents of Louisiana’s neighboring states, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi are also invited to shop with Louisiana merchants throughout the state from Friday December 16th through Sunday December 18th.

Secretary Bridges will walk through the Riverwalk mall and will be available to answer questions related to the state sales tax holiday at that time. Secretary Bridges will begin her visit on the first level of the Riverwalk near Café du Monde beside the Riverwalk’s Christmas dove.

The Louisiana Department of Revenue’s mission is to administer the applicable tax laws of the state of Louisiana as well as regulations concerning alcohol, tobacco and charitable gaming.
