Revenue’s B.R. Regional Office, ATC, & Charitable Gaming Now in a Single Location

October 30, 2001

BATON ROUGE -The Department of Revenue’s Baton Rouge Regional Office, Office of Charitable Gaming, and Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control recently moved to a single new location in the United Plaza Twelve Building just off Essen Lane in Baton Rouge. This new location is convenient to Jefferson Highway, I-10 and I-12.

The United Plaza Twelve Building is located at 8549 United Plaza Boulevard, just behind the Secretary of State’s Archives Building on Essen Lane. The Office of Charitable Gaming occupies an area on the first floor of the building and the Baton Rouge Region and the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control occupy areas on the second floor. Telephone numbers for each agency are as follows: Baton Rouge Region, (225) 922-2300; Charitable Gaming, (225) 925-1835 (local) and (800) 562-9235 (toll-free); and ATC, (225) 925-4041.

The state has plans for this location to become a Regional Customer Service Center. Also scheduled to occupy an area of the building is the Office of Community Services of the Department of Social Services and some offices of the Secretary of State. By grouping all of these offices into a single building, the state’s goal is to make services more convenient for citizens. Since many services of the agencies located in the building are coordinated and sequential in nature, citizens won’t have to travel to several locations in order to complete their business with those offices.

Secretary of Revenue Cynthia Bridges suggests that taxpayers who have frequented the Headquarters Office of the Department of Revenue may want to begin doing business with the Baton Rouge Regional Office. She says the new location may be much more convenient and offers the same services that are available through the Headquarters Office.
